Homespun Grenadine
July 7, 2016
The classic mini-bar must-have, only not as sickly saccharine as the stuff in the bottle.
- Prep: 30 mins
- Yields: 1 1/2 cups
Directions
1Place 2 cups of pomegranate juice in a small saucepan.
2Add water, sugar and lemon juice. Bring to a boil.
3Once at a boil, drop to a high simmer. As it cooks, skim any scum that rises to the top.
4Allow to reduce by half. Pour into a mason jar. Allow to come to room temp, seal, apply pretty label and store in fridge for a few months. I betcha it won't last that long.
5To make a Roy Rogers: Fill a glass with ice. Pour a big tablespoon of grenadine over ice. Fill glass with your favorite cola. A favorite of cowboys young and old.
Drizzle into cocktails, over ice cream or even waffles.
