Red, White and Blue Trifle

June 16, 2016

A dessert as delicious as it is patriotic.

  • Prep: 1 hr 10 mins
  • Yields: 6-8 servings

For Cream Filling

4 oz. cream cheese softened

1/2 cup heavy cream

2 tablespoons powdered sugar

1 tablespoon bourbon whiskey

For triffle

Crumbled vanilla wafers

Sliced strawberries

Purveyors Kitchen Blackberry Pinot Noir Spread

Whipped cream

Mint leaves

1In a large bowl, whisk together cream cheese, whipping cream, sugar and bourbon.

2Once a stiff cream forms, cover bowl in plastic and place in fridge for an hour.

3Grab your favorite serving glass or mason jar. Make alternating layers of sliced berries, crumbled vanilla wafers, cream and Purveyors Kitchen Blackberry Pinot Noir Spread.

4Top the top of the trifle with plain whipped cream. Top the top layer with sliced berries and mint leaves.

5Serve immediately or refrigerate for a few hours. The time invested will render a much better trifle, I promise.

Raspberries handy? Feel free to use them in place of the sliced strawberries.
